Recently I took advantage of the three course pre fix Dine LA menu this past week at Waterloo & City in Culver City .The elements that I look for in any establishment are quality and flavor of the food items, drink menu, decor and most importantly service. Waterloo & City hit my every mark on point.

Waterloo & City has amazing craft beers on tap, handmade cocktails, and extensive wine list. I personally put back two Ommegang Hennepin’s while sampling the Thai curry lime mussels . I loved the Thai influences and it definitely brought the “heat”in a way the words can’t explain.

The sea bass with ricotta & black truffle gnocchi that my partner dined on was phenomenal, the best 9 oz of fish anyone can buy. Most places serve anywhere from 5 to 7 oz of fish, so you are definitely getting your money’s worth. We shared the tuna tar tare for an appetizer it was nice, fresh and light. Last but not lease we indulged in the homemade doughnuts with a bourbon glaze for dessert. The decor was very rustic scene that meets an antique old English , but it came together nicely.

I highly recommend this as a date night! It’s extremely romantic

A few nights later while in Hollywood I stumbled upon this quaint little place named Grub.

The Dine LA menu at Grub was $26 per person. Looking for something to satisfy your munchies? Do you love sweet chocolate and salty bacon? The “Crack,” bacon quesadilla should hit your spot. This is something completely out of the ordinary but trust me it is tasty. I devorued the “Spicy mac & cheese,” sandwich was loaded with diced chicken, tons of “Franks Red Hot,” and Gorgonzola goodness to finish it off. That alone is worth the day in the gym. To put the nail in your coffin try the “Chocolate Bacon Sandwich,” h is drizzled with chocolate sauce and fresh whipped creme. The atmosphere makes you feel your are at home, very casual with an inviting patio. This was once a house Im assuming.I will be back for Sunday brunch on the patio! Try these places and you will defiantly thank me! Till next time Peace and Love

We are always on the search for great spots to eat. If you’re looking for great southern comfort food look no further, “South” in Santa Monica is the place to be.

Starting off with a cheap beer is always a nice way to begin a meal. If you find your way here during happy hour you can receive $10 pitchers which can easily furnish 5 beers. Their beer selection is worth checking out, anything from a black butte porter, to a pyramid hef can be found on tap.

Kick things off with the Gumbo that’s what we did and were not disappointed. This dish comes served with andouille sausage, blackened chicken, gulf shrimp, okra, over rice next to a piece of cornbread. Next do yourself a favor and try the Jambalaya Pizza, which is a spicy southern take on French bread pizza; mozzarella cheese, andouille sausage, roasted chicken, with homemade pizza sauce with a punch .

Finish your heavenly feast with the Chicken N’ Waffle sliders. Mini waffles with fried chicken in between, sounds simple because it is simple, simply orgasmic. With a side of syrup or southern gravy to dip them in its worth the trip to this place on its own. What are you waiting for?

Go! You know South is calling your name as we speak…

Lunch is something everyone looks forward to. It’s that mid-day break that re energizes us to finish the day strong. It’s a great time to catch up with friends or have a quick meeting. Looking for some can’t miss downtown lunch spots? Here are some amazing places to ponder over.

First off, what are you in the mood for today?

Are you an east coaster missing those meat loaded rye sandwiches served at your favorite delicatessens? Have no fear; the Yorkshire Grill is here. Positioned on 6th/grand. Chances are once you visit; It will be your new favorite lunch spot. Everything here is so fresh and delicious especially the California special. Two slices of heaven loaded with tuna, avocado, pickles, lettuce and tomato. If you feel like having an orgasm in your mouth add cheese, and get a side of cottage cheese. Although nobody will every make matzo-ball soup like my grandmother does, Yorkshire Grill’s can definitely warm you up on a cold day or change the forecast when feeling under the weather.

How about the classic soup & sandwich/salad combo? Arda’s Café on 6th/Olive will satisfy everyone’s craving. The sun dried melody salad with a cup of the red lentil soup is a must. This salad has a delicious assortment of pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and turkey drizzled with a refreshing mango dressing. The red lentil soup not only fills you up with a healthy serving of fiber, but it’s just down right tasty. For all the PETA loving vegetarians out there, the grilled veggie sandwich is amazing. The garlic spread on the fresh rosemary bread is tasty enough to satisfy all, even the diehard carnivores out there. The proud owner, Jon Toktas, is always there welcoming you to his warm, family owned, cafe. If you have an Arda’s craving but running short on time they also offer deliver and pick up service.

Sushi anyone? Lets go to Octopus, located on 7th/Flower. To start, the ambiance in this joint is cool yet calming. Downtown is all about hustle and bustle, but this place can slow it down as you prepare for some amazing sushi. Begin with the garlic butter edamame. It’s a huge portion that’s deliciousness will cause you to be oblivious to the fact that you devoured the whole thing. If you’re in the mood for something light, the seared albacore salad is to die for. You won’t find albacore any fresher than what Octopus offers If your tummy is demanding a roll, you can’t go wrong with any of the menu’s offerings. They’re all so beautifully prepared that you might hesitate before taking your first bite.

These are only a few of our favorite but come back soon to hear what other hidden gems we’ve uncovered.

Enjoy!
