Brooklyn based rap collective Flatbush Zombies grabbed the attention of hip hop heads last summer with their mixtape D.R.U.G.S.

The trio consists of  Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick Arc Elliott who all bring a look, unlike any other group you’ll find in the game right now. Flatbush Zombie’s blends the visual psychedelics of the 70′s with the melodic smoothness of 90′s rap.

While preparing for their latest mixtape Better Off DEADmixtape they decide to take us on another bath salt inspired video with “MRAZ”. The visual shows Flatbush Zombies doing what they do best, spitting bars and passin the dutchy to the left one time.

The War on Drugs has been highly publicized as a war that’s hemorrhaging billions of dollars from our economy, while overcrowding our prisions. Studies have shown that ever since Ronald Regan announced his war on drugs in 1982, drugs have become more accessible than ever before.

Just think as a youth how easy it was for us to buy a dub of weed or a eighth of mushrooms. You would think that with our nation redefining the term “broke”, we would hit the drawling board to restructure our outdated/useless policies.

The War on Drugs being one of them.

It would be refreshing to live in a country where government took a proactive approach to drugs in the U.S. By now it should be clear that drugs will never be exiled from our nations soil, its time we come up with a plan B and actually got some shit done. The video below provides some insight on that very topic.

Have you ever wonder how much drugs it takes to actually alter ones perception of life? Bryan Lewis Saunders  wondered the same and then decided to do something about it. The Washington D.C. based artist took every mind-altering drug that he could and then drew himself .

Saunders had this to saying about his project named “DRUGS”

“After experiencing drastic changes in my environment, I looked for other experiences that might profoundly affect my perception of the self. So I devised another experiment where everyday I took a different drug and drew myself under the influence. Within weeks I became lethargic and suffered mild brain damage. I am still conducting this experiment but over greater lapses of time. I only take drugs that are given to me.”

Below are his self discoveries on drugs ranging from Crystal Meth to Xanax to Marijuana:

It seems impossible to go into any  L.A bathroom without hearing sniffles followed by 3 people pouring out of a bathroom stall. Yayo, white girl,or whatever you call it, is a huge part of any party scene. For years cocaine and  L.A. nightlife has gone together like peanut butter & jelly.

It’s just one of those things that you become immune to during your Los Angeles naturalization. The infographic below preaches some cold hard facts about the white lines that are seemingly running through everybody’s mind.

L.A. is without a doubt leading the charge to make California the greenest state in the nation.  It’s impossible to escape the fumes of people toking up no matter your location, whether your Downtown checking out L.A. Live, strolling down the boardwalk at Venice Beach, or cruising down Hollywood Blvd.

Even though the heavenly substance has been decriminalized sadly its still not 100% legal. With the huge revenue stream Marijuana dispensaries are pulling into L.A. county; you’d think that politicians would lend an unbiased ear to propositions designed to legalize it. Especially considering that our state is going through the worst economic period of its existence. Since the financial benefits are not enough maybe some of the health benefits below will get some of those naysayers on board.

Phew L.A. County finally put some of the billions of dollars poured into the “War on Drugs” to good use. Now before you anti-fun, I mean anti-drug, nerds begin jumping with joy take a look at L.A. County’s new ammunition against the mind alter drug Ecstasy.

Whoa, I bet you didn’t see that one coming. Finally the government got something right, the solution to the “War on Drugs” isn’t wasting the taxpayers money on trying to get rid of them, but instead using it to educate the public about them.

Now before the site is brought down by all “hey drug are bad mister!” comments let me explain.

Drugs can do terrible things to people and the ones surrounding them if they are abused. However, in this country drugs are as American as apple pie, they’ve been around since the constitution was inked, our country was founded on alcohol and tobacco which are in fact drugs.

For the past 70 years we’ve wasted enough money on trying to get rid of drugs completely, when it’s obviously that approach isn’t working and never will. It sound bad but us American’s love us some narcotics. It’s time to cut our losses and instead try to educate the public on proper usage.

I personally give the Los Angeles County Health Department and standing ovation for their new proactive approach.

Don’t get us wrong compared to most American cities Los Angeles is ahead of the curve. Our fashion is the trendiest, our people are the coolest (for the most part), and our weather cannot be beat. But we got the thinking, could our fair city be any greater?

Of course it can be! I present to you 5 things that could totally change L.A.

1.) Legalization of Marijuana-I know what you’re saying,”Weed is basically legal here already”. True L.A. is one of the “greenest” cities in the country. With the proper doctor note its legal and was even on California’s most recent ballet for legalization (we’ll get it next time!). When it is finally legalized just think of how much revenue it could bring to our struggling economic state, room it would free up in our overcrowded prisons, and time it would give law enforcement to go after real criminals.

2.) Bullet Train to San Francisco/Las Vegas- Just imagine how much easier it would be to visit our neighbors to the north and west. Sadly as of now the only options are flying or driving but both have their pitfalls. Driving takes too long and flying can be too price. It would be so much easier to hop on a train and be there in 2 hours. Currently the dream is still in the planning phase with the California High-Speed Rail Authority, but “planning” can go on for years before anything is ever executed.

3.) Professional NFL team- How can the countries second biggest city not have a football team when Green Bay, Wisconsin’s “Go Pack Go” chants can be heard all the way in Koreatown.Come on! Los Angeles’ population is around 18 Million; Green Bay’s is only 300,000 that’s 56 time smaller. It seems talks are finally in works to build a nice, shiny, new stadium near downtown’s L.A. Live. It would bring so much people/money to downtown, which is currently going through an urban revitalization. The only thing is if everything goes through and we actually do get a team we have to keep it!

4.) Improved City Metro Rail System- Our current train system is satisfactory, but there is definitely room for improvement. The first big hurdle is staying open 24 hours. We can’t let our east coast rival, New York City, beat us in everything. Next, expansion of the 9 current lines since they do not meet the needs of most L.A. citizens. Apparently they don’t get that L.A. is spread out and we need a train system that supports that. This also would be a  great start to finding a solution to our abominable traffic problem.
