Last year GQ labeled this man as one of the best new designers of 2012. It’s well deserved considering his independent work, in addition to the numerous collaboration he’s been apart of.
Born on March 8th 1961 in North Carolina, Mark McNairy initially made his name as the Creative Director for J. Press. After feeling like he was ready to step out on his own in ’95 he started his own line, New Amsterdam. McNairy’s succes is mostly attributed to his footwear.
He has become known for reinterpreting the classic styling of mens brogues, boots, and loafers.
Due to his choice of material andcolorways, Mark McNairy has landed big name accounts such as Union LA, Barney’s, and Tres Bien. McNaiy has also managed to align himself with some pretty well known brands like Keds and Gap. His Keds collaboration sparked not a worldwide interest in men’s Keds, while producing some of the more sophisticated sneakers in recent years.
Through his innovate vision Mark McNairy has managed to propel himself to the forefront of the fashion game.
