With their newest invention Pebble Technology, based out of Palo Alto, is attempting to bridge the gap between fashion and technology.
Pebble Technology visionary, Eric Migicovsky’s, goal is to create a watch that not only is stylish but also displays information streaming from your smartphone. Unfortunately Migicovsky hit one major snag when he couldn’t find the capital investors needed to fund such an innovative project.
Migicovsky then decided to put his project on the fundraising site Kickstarter.
For those of you unaware of Kickstarter, the website is a crowd funding website for creative projects. Kickstarter has funded a diverse array of endeavors, ranging from indie films, music and comics to journalism, video games and food-related projects. In the past 3 weeks the project has raised over 6 million dollars in investments, making it one of the most successful project in the sites history, and plans on having the first shipment of watches finished by September.
