The live music scene in Los Angeles is banging with up & coming artists. The Airliner in Lincoln Heights/Los Angeles comes to mind when thinking of a venue that encourages emerging artists to showcase their talent/s to an existing fan base while reaching out to new ones.
I saw The Vim Dicta perform at [blank] Tuesday back in January 2012. The threesome blew me away with their sounds & their professionalism. So young & so driven, The Vim Dicta raised $10,000, three thousand more than requested, from their Kick Starter project to be used to record a full length album. They sound like “the Doors Volta”, says band manager Dan Nash, while, singer Cori Elliott coined the term “Psycho Groove” to describe The Vim Dicta‘s sound.
I’m currently in Austin, Texas for the Sugar Art & Fashion show taking place at the Elysium on March 23rd. Our arrival to Texas was just in time for me to watch The Vim Dicta perform at the Bayou Lounge, their last show of their SXSW tour. Members Cori Elliott, David Halicky, and Matt Tunney arrived early enough for me to greet them & congratulate them on making it for SXSW. Once it was time for them to hit center stage, with their presence alone, they electrified the audience while captivating festival goers with their sound.
Peep this video of their performance at The Airliner
So if you want to be blown, be on the look out for The Vim Dicta.
