The first time I saw live burlesque was in 2007 at Lucha Va Voom. I was really impressed by their talent and moves because I couldn’t even tell which ones were females and which were males. Most people attend Lucha Va Voom to see masked Luchadores wrestling and tossing midgets around, but I was more into the classic cars and dancers.
I’ve caught a handful of different burlesque performances since then at other places, but only been impressed one other time. I was at the Rainbow Room on the infamous Sunset Strip in Hollywood and wanted to grab a drink upstairs in the part of the Rainbow Room I like to refer to as the tree house. That night a burlesque troop called the Hells Belles was going to be performing. I decided to stick around and check them out. I found them mesmerizing. I was probably taken by their costumes, beauty, moves and selection of music. All their dances were set to kick ass rock and roll music, which isn’t your normal pairing but somehow really works. I was also into the fact that these dancers were 100% female and amazing dancers.
I recently saw the Hells Belles offering a deal on classes on Living Social. They dance with so much sex appeal that I’m tempted to take a class to see if they could help me further my efforts towards becoming an irresistible seductress.
The Hells Bells now perform at Townhouse in Venice so if you live on the Westside you don’t have to travel too far to catch a show.
